Heather is a sophomore at Glenbrook South High School where she plays percussion for various bands.
Heather is a first chair percussionist for concert band and is a drummer for the school’s Jazz Ensemble. She is also a percussionist for the Glenbrook Symphony Orchestra, and in her freshman year of GBS, she was selected to be a part of the North Shore Honor Band. In addition to these musical activities, she is a part of the GBS drumline, and enjoys doing percussion for school plays and shows. Outside of music, Heather enjoys trying new hobbies, and playing lacrosse.
Before high school, Heather has been a part of multiple ensembles through her middle school, and has won awards including the “Excellent Band Award” (an award given to a deserving band student at each grade level) and the “Dr. Weber Fine Arts Award” (an award given to one student in each grade level at the school by art, music, and theater teachers). She has also been a drummer for the school’s jazz band and for two rock bands outside of school. Music has always been a part of Heather’s life. She briefly played violin at the age of 5, until she transitioned to piano, which she played for 4 years. At 9 years old, she started to play percussion, and at 12 years old she started to play the drums. She has experimented with bass guitar and ukulele over the years, and has recently taken up piano again.
