Hi! I’m Kramer, I live in Glenview and am a senior at Glenbrook South. I started playing clarinet in third grade, but switched to euphonium in sixth and added trombone not long after. Currently, I am the first chair euphonium in our top band at GBS. I am also second chair trombone in our top Jazz Ensemble. Additionally, I play baritone in marching band (I was assistant section leader this year), and trombone in the Glenbrook Symphony Orchestra. I was also second chair in the Variety Show Pit Band on trombone.
This year I had a Music Education Independent Study; I got to help with sectionals, warm-ups, and even conducted a piece at our last in-person concert. Outside of school, I have played with the Interlochen Intermediate Wind Symphony (euphonium, 2017), the Birch Creek Jazz Ensemble (trombone and trumpet, 2018), the ILMEA District 7 Band (euphonium, 2019), the North Shore Honor Band (euphonium, 2018-2019), and the Youth Brass Band of Battle Creek (euphonium, 2017-present). I love trying new instruments and play trumpet, clarinet, soprano trombone, tuba, tenor sax, and harmonica in my free time. I take lessons on euphonium, trombone, piano, and upright bass.
I am going to major in Euphonium Performance and Music Education in college; I hope to continue playing trombone in jazz ensembles and combos. I would like to be a high school band director at a school with a big marching band.
